Winning E-Story Submitted by: Diane Burch
I must confess, I am for the most part computer illiterate. Oh, I can manage
E-mail and E-shopping, but when something goes awry I'm stopped dead in my
tracks! The fact that I'm 64 is no excuse but sometimes I tell myself it is,
you know...teaching old dogs new tricks...etc...etc. Recently my hard drive
crashed. I had to dig out my old laptop to get by until they sent me a new
hard drive. I called NATCO Tech. The girl walked me through the procedure and
I was on line in no time. When the new hard drive arrived I had to call NATCO
Tech once again. The people in that office are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable,
and of the utmost importance for me, patient! Even if I don't "get it" right
away they guide me through until I'm up and running. They make me fell like
I'm talking to a friend or neighbor. NATCO has made my internet experience
an everyday pleasure.
Diane Burch just earned two free months of NATCO Internet service!
Submit your E-Story today and you could be our next winner! Remember
that you can enter more than once. So, if you didn't win this time, try
again! Just go to www.natcotech.com/estories.htm
and tell us how using NATCO's Internet or e-mail service has made your
life easier, helped you promote or manage your business, or simply how
much you enjoy using the Internet and e-mail. If your E-Story is
chosen, you'll win two months of free NATCO dialup Internet service
($19.95 X 2 = $39.90) or an equivalent credit on your High-Speed
Internet account. |

Cuil Claims to be Biggest Search Engine Now
A brand new search engine called Cuil
(pronounced: cool) made its debut July 28, 2008, boasting of an index
of 120 billion Web pages, "three times bigger than any other search
engine."
Founders are Tom Costello, a Stanford University researcher, and Anna Patterson,
his wife and an ex-Google search engine researcher.
Patterson says Cuil ranks pages by
content analysis rather than popularity, building a more efficient
yet richer search engine from the ground up. "The Internet has grown,
and we think it’s time search did, too," Patterson told Information
Week.
Cuil founders also promise privacy of personally identifiable
information, pledging not to keep any names, IP addresses, or cookies. |

Looking for a Green Idea?
Internet users can certainly go "green" concerning natural resource
conservation every time you send an e-mail instead of a letter, make a
to-do list, a calendar, etc. You'll save a lot of paper, and its source
– trees, when you send e-mail messages. |

Some Computer Games Get Kids (and others) Moving
Some computer games may get gamers off the couch if they – or their schools – have
exercise games! Nintendo's new Wii
Fit was recently tested
by the Miami Herald newspaper on a group of middle school students as
well as a personal trainer and a hospital patient taking physical
therapy.
Here's what the Miami – Dade schools physical education director
Jayne Greenberg said. "With the games systems we already have, kids are
exercising for an hour and a half and not even realizing it. They are
drenched when finished. These kids are brought up with technology and
the same systems we complain can make kids overweight can be the ones
we use to help them exercise."
Wii Fit comes bundled with a balance board to be used in aerobic
exercises, strength training, and even yoga. Games
using a pad, treadmill, or other electronic accessories have been on
the market for a couple of years and are used at gyms and physical
rehabilitation centers. |
