You've heard about Internet-TV, but what is it?

It is movies, video and television programs delivered to your television, PC or laptop via your high-speed Internet connection instead of cable or satellite.

There are several websites that allow you to download television programs and movies for free (see below). There are also many devices on the market which allow you to watch these shows on your television via your high-speed Internet connection.

Getting Internet content on your TV can be as simple as connecting a matching cable from your computer to the port on your television (i.e., computer has a VGA output and TV has a VGA input).

There are also more advanced methods of streaming content from your computer to your TV including D-Link's PC-on-TV box and IOGEAR's wireless audio/video kit. The new generation of gaming consoles such as the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii also allow you to stream Internet content directly to your TV. Some Blu-ray™ players are equipped to stream Internet content as well.

Netflix offers unlimited streaming to its subscribers with over 12,000 movies and television titles available for viewing via the Internet.

The Roku Digital Video Player connects your high-speed Internet with your TV and serves as a control center for your digital media. The Roku is remote-control operated and allows music, movies and video to be streamed and placed in a cue for viewing.

The most recent innovation in Internet-TV technology is the Internet-ready television. Most major TV manufacturers now offer Internet-ready televisions which allow you to connect with various media sites to stream movies and TV programs directly to your television.
